Impractical Jokers Details

John, Paul, George and Ringo. Steph, KD, Klay and Draymond. The Stretchy Man, The Invisible Woman, The Firey One and The Rock One (or whatever the Fantastic Four’s names are). Whether it be rock music, basketball or the world of superheroes, every field has its own iconic foursome. And when it comes to prank comedy shows that aren’t Jackass, that foursome is the Impractical Jokers. Comprised of James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano, the Impractical Jokers got their start as exactly that—a bunch of Staten Island high-schoolers messing around. They were far from aimless, though, forming the comedy troupe The Tenderloins in 1999 to perform live sketch and improv comedy. The group was successful in both, getting live gigs all over the country. Around 2006, as the YouTube era got underway, the group found that making sketches for the video site was the most effective way of building their fanbase.

Long story short, The Tenderloins got so big that they got their own TV show: truTV announced Impractical Jokers in April 2011. The show differentiates itself from other prank shows in a few ways, most significantly that the pranksters enter their scenes with no idea what they’re going to do—they take instructions from their teammates via earpiece, and improvise from there. With their sketch and improv backgrounds, they’re no strangers to live performances, and they return to those roots for the basis of their touring show. It’s hard to watchImpractical Jokers and not think how fun it would be to hang out with the guys. Their live show is a chance to do just that.
